The Coordinator, Account Management and Marketing Greater China is a role within the Asia Pacific Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Team and is responsible for Account Management and Marketing functions in China, working closely with SPT sales and a wide variety of clients across multiple distribution windows.

This role is tasked with assisting the Director, Account Management and Marketing Greater China, conducting market research, creating client and consumer marketing campaigns and securing placement on client platforms, to assist B2B sales and licenses of SPT features and TV series, and B2C transactions and streams of SPT titles on predominantly OTT platforms, across a range of windows such as TVOD, SVOD and linear.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Marketing

  • Conduct market research, make analysis on data from clients, target users and third party partners.

  • Assist Director to manage an annual client and consumer focused marketing strategy each FY, made up of memorable scaled marketing campaigns for SPT features and TV series

  • Be conscious and actively find incremental revenue opportunities using marketing nous

  • Assist to create and implement innovative pre-sales marketing campaigns for SPT series, that aid and assist licensing of TV series to clients

  • Assist to create and implement innovative post sales marketing campaigns for SPT features and series, with a particular focus on theatrical features VOD campaigns, creating consumer and client marketing to drive transactions

  • Assist Director to manage marketing relations with counterparts at major clients with a focus on BAT, build trust, and engage in ongoing interactions, using these interactions to create commercial intelligence to guide marketing and sales strategy

  • Be able to plan and articulate a strategy for owned, earned and paid media for priority TV series and feature film campaigns

  • Support the Director to initiate stunts, PR campaigns, talent access, paid and organic social media to drive consumer awareness and conversion to stream and transaction on priority SPT series and features

  • Aggregate exclusive and non-exclusive content assets, focusing in particular for circulation on Chinese social media, and leverage with clients, partners and media and KOLs in order to create demand and drive conversion to transactions for SPT releases

  • Actively find and nurture third party promotional and partnership relationships, and leverage those relations to enhance SPT’s go to market campaigns on features and TV series

  • Support on talent tour in China for for appropriate events, lead and manage scheduled on promotion tours once secured

  • Draft effective briefs to media, social and digital agencies, be able to extract value from an agency partner, manage and monitor an agency partner for optimal return to SPT

  • Support the Director to Localize an international distribution strategy

  • Support the Director to Augment SPT sales team in their objectives and goals, ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with sales targets

  • Deliver creative events, screenings and client entertainment where required

  • Nurture and align with theatrical team to maximize exposure of local theatrical releases on digital platforms and through social marketing resources, to stimulate TVOD online sales

  • Support SPT local production team in promoting original productions from the beginning of the projects, planning independently or working with co-production partners to develop marketing plans

Account Management

  • Secure incremental placement for priority features and TV series on China client’s platforms, with a laser focus on BAT

  • Deliver regular product presentations or business reviews for priority clients across China, prepare sales tools and presentations accordingly

  • Create drafting campaigns and other calendar or concept-based library campaigns, to drive incremental revenue from SPT’s vast library of features and TV series

  • Contribute to the determination of optimal release dates with client and market intelligence, be aware of windowing and windowing opportunities to create upside

  • Actively contribute to growth strategies for SPT’s SVOD and TVOD business

Key stakeholder management

  • Manage key stakeholders including SPT home office marketing, SPT sales team, Hong Kong regional team, retained agencies, Sony Pictures Releasing, and other Sony companies

  • Stay closely aligned with SPT sales team and augment their goals

  • Work in alignment with Sony Pictures Releasing (theatrical) teams across the region on title strategy and consumer marketing and social media

  • Secure talent access and leverage to create sales and marketing assets and exclusive content

  • Manage admin and logistic work for Beijing marketing team.

Consumer and competitor awareness

  • Be cognizant of evolving social media landscape in China, and recommend and execute campaigns to exploit Sony content via this medium

  • Track and monitor competing distributors’ and clients marketing activities, monitor marketing best practice

  • Conduct post analysis on campaign and sales results, and share learnings with the broader business

  • Analyze sales & market data, and consumer insights to determine go to market strategy

Regional Transactional Distribution support:

  • Provide administration, co-ordination and support for Transactional Distribution team across all Asian markets with a focus on South East Asia, India, South Korea and Greater China.
  • Update product pricing and promotions in the internal and external systems for clients like iTunes and Google Play
  • Monitor pricing and promotion on stores (across Asia), share data and insights with the team
  • Leverage drafting intel from home office and other territories to provide Transactional Distribution team with constant flow of placement solutions
  • Attend monthly meetings with iTunes on promotions and sales strategy. Pull sales report and data per requests.
  • Liaise and manage the relationship with the digital avails and operations team in LA (CAMS) 
  • Ensure all transactional digital SKU’s go live on time and with the correct pricing and key art
  • Update product scheduling for the region in the internal system, monitor and suggest schedule and dates for non-theatrical titles
  • Coordinate with physical licensees & theatrical team in the region
  • Updating Home Entertainment section of Sony Pictures websites in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia & Taiwan

Candidate Requirements:

  • Fluent Chinese and serviceable English language skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, account management and other relevant disciplines

  • An innate ability to leverage social media to create awareness and conversion

  • Recent working knowledge of OTT distribution or social media an advantage

  • OTT content distribution experience highly regarded

  • Sensitive to digital and social media campaign is essential

  • Be able to creatively extract value from a limited marketing budget

  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills

  • Thorough MS Office proficiency

  • Skill in using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Final Cut is a plus

  • Possess a test and learn attitude

  • Excellent organization skills, flexible, and having a keen eye for details

  • Able to take initiative, multi-tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.

  • Passion for movies and TV series will be highly regarded

  • Working experience with film related social media company or BAT also will be highly valued
