General Summary:

Provide financial and operational analysis in support of Facilities and SEHS Operations departments. Analyze operational metrics and financial data; analyze and prepare reports on trends, variances from budgets and exceptions to SLAs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitor spend on projects, regularly providing updates with comparisons of Budget/Actual and variance explanations.

  • Participate in the development of annual departmental and capital budgets, providing historical data to support planning

  • Provide directors, managers and foremen with M&R hours VS budget report. Research differences between Archibus (Work Order Management System) hours and SAP (Sony Pictures Accounting System) hours. Provide detailed analysis for any differences found.

  • Work with Studio Finance on the monthly fiscal close, ensuring that journals are submitted on time and researching variance explanations. Itemize items that need to be accrued for the month and provide variance explanations.

  • Assist department manager with projects, research and analysis. Participate in Facilities and SEHS meetings to maintain an understanding of current projects and priorities. Communicate with and provide direction to Facilities and SEHS personnel regarding any accounting matters.

  • Create and process vendor maintenance requests (VMRs) for updates to vendor information such as name changes, banking information, contact change etc. Create and process purchase requisitions, blanket purchase orders and AP payment requests for goods and services.

  • Initiate payment requests to AP Shared Services. Review requests for purchases and payments to ensure compliance with departmental and company policies.

  • Function as subject matter expert for Financial Systems used in the department. Traning and answering questions from users regarding use of Ariba, Archibus, SAP and other systems used.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Basic accounting concepts

  • Budgeting and analysis

  • Facilities and Construction trades and union contracts is helpful but not required

Skill In:

  • MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of Excel’s data analysis tools

  • Computer savvy with the ability to learn in-house programs (TAAS, Ariba and SAP helpful but not required) Experience using Archibus preferred but not required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.

  • Self-starter, proactive and detail-oriented.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Typing speed of 45 wpm and 10 key preferred.

Ability To:

  • Analyze financial and operational data in the context of departmental budgets and operational priorities.

  • Be flexible in the face of changing requirements.

  • Ability to think independently, set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
