Reporting to theExecutive DirectorofProductionSecurity &Safety, the DirectorofProductionSecurity, Safety &Eventsfor Sony Pictures Entertainmentleveragesextensive subject matter expertise and international experience to provide strategic guidance on a widearrayofsubjects.Theroles andresponsibilitiesare conducted in support ofeveryinternalSonyentity(andtheir3rdparty co-productions) from inception, to on-set production, tofinaldelivery(globally).Responsibilities include In-personglobal support for site assessments and location scouts,arrangingand/orassistingin-depth threat assessmentsthrough GTM teamand GSOC teams, vetting the script for potential security&safetyconcerns,providing best security&safetypractices,providing input for crew/talent transportation and accommodations,coordinating vendor/staff/crew relations, provide guidance in the protection of assets (and/or content),anddeliveringcontinuous support in the event of an incidentduring the productionand/or eventtimelinefor (ALL) SPEteams.  [Executive, MPG, SPT, 3rdpartyproduction,andMarketing/Publicity.]

Core Responsibilities:

Global ProductionSecurity& Safety Supportfrom planning to execution 

Direct managementand interaction withup to(100+productions) while partneringwith SPE internal business units,production executives,local& federallaw enforcement,State Department,andexternal productionteamsfor successful implementation/resolutionensuringpropersecurity & safetyprocedures.Travelling (worldwide) providing solutions and real-time support,whilecombining a production background & experience withsecurity&safetyexpertise. 

  • Pre-Production[set up of show]- i.e. working with legal,procurement,external production teams, and internalexecutiveson recognizing key production goals that may need security(and/or safety)assistanceProvide on-siteguidancedeterminingrisk, talent needs, andpotential IP concerns.Coordinating with Global Threats Teamand GSOCtoprovidefull security/threat assessmentsof (city, and/or region) ofourproductionslocation(s). Lead (and/or) assist with the hiring of local security vendors (also confirming they are approved andvetted by SonyProcurementteam).  Recognizing andaddressingsafetyconcerns with the production team.

  • Communicationand Supportcreate protocols and facilitate automated communication(s) and accountability for all crew in the event of an emergency(via Everbridge).Guidance in the protection of assets (and/or content).Occasional reviewofshooting scriptsproviding internal feedback and/or concern in order to provide inputand/or strategy ensuringbest security& safetymeasures areadministered.

  • Completion– taking any valuable information gathered from physical production - totransition tothe(Post Production)EventSecurityphasecontrolling logistics fortalentstrategy,junkets,and premieres.

Global Event Security – (Corporate/Production Support)

Directing global supportand regional oversightfor all Sony entitiesprovidinglogisticaland on-sitesupportfor(junkets, world premieres,locationassessments, corporate sponsored events, and/or reactionaryeventneeds/requests).  Travelsworldwide providing solutions and real-time supportdeliveringstaffing, strategy, and direct supervisionforall SPE events globally,includingSPEon-lot corporate/production events and (internal and 3rdparty) production shoots. Partnering with marketing and publicity teams for each title (andworldtour) for strategy andprioritization– whileleadingSPERegional Teams for on-the-ground representation (when appropriate). 

Vendor Management

Decentralize the traditional staffing model by recognizing global partners to reduce travel costs and broaden our global support. Creates, vets, and coordinates Vendor Management Program forEvent andProductionSecurity/Safety.  Maintains close communicationand coordinationwith the management of each preferred vendor. Identifyand maintainstandardizedrates with vendors for security and close protection servicesin coordination with ProcurementAssemblesall third-party vendor contracts(and insurances)withLegal, Risk, andProcurement teams.

COVID-19 CrisisManagementCoordination

This rolehas extensive internal, client-facing responsibilities as part of the company’scrisismanagement efforts in response to COVID-19. The management of multiple weekly meetings withvariousproduction entities is an ongoing requirement, along withensuringthat all items discussed are actioned accordingly. Thought leadership, product development, lateral thinking and time management are critical success factors. 

Requirements:

  • 5 years of previous, studio relevant experience in dealing with a fast-paced environment where management, coordination & people skills are a must.
  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required
  • Excellentwritten and oral communication skillsare required. 
  • Proficiency inVeoci,Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Photoshop, SharePoint, SAP,Perspective, OnGuard.

Knowledge of:   

  • Knowledge of SonyProductionsand its business units, term deal productions, and operational staffis crucial. Shows an understanding of issues relevant to the broad organization and business.  Keeps pace with an increasing amount of new and updated information relating totheindustry,its objectives,andthecompetition.  Achieves and maintains optimal operational efficiency via innovation and technical knowledge.  Develops strong business relationships focusing on communication and customer service.  Analyzes current operational status and determines appropriate course of action.
