Graphics Engineer

At Sony Innovation Studios our goal is to enrich people’s lives with entertainment technologies. Located at the heart of the vibrant Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City we are surrounded by creative and talented people looking to create the best entertainment experiences possible. We are looking for motivated Graphics Engineer who dreams in pixels and is incredible passionate about pushing the boundaries of real-time rendering, to join our Core Technology team to develop new and groundbreaking graphics and render systems for next-generation volumetric and virtual production technologies.

What You Will Be Doing
• Research, design, and develop cutting edge real-time render systems and features
• Analyze, improve, optimize, and debug existing graphics engine technology
• Innovate creative tools and technologies
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and other engineers to develop high-quality
• Write and maintain efficient, readable, and reliable code

What We Are Looking For
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years as a graphics engineer working with real-time 3D graphics
• Strong 3D math skills - linear algebra, vector/matrix math, quaternions, etc
• Strong skills in modern C++ 14/17
• Strong graphics debugging and profiling skills
• Good understanding of multi-threaded programming and optimizations
• Good understanding of low-level CPU / GPU operations and architecture
• Experience working on large code bases
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Motivated and proactive self-starter, able to operate in a highly dynamic environment
• Passionate about computer graphics and low-level hardware

• Experience with async compute shaders
• Experience with Vulkan graphics API
• Experience in Gaming Industry and shipped at least 1 title as graphics programmer
• Understanding of VR and AR rendering technologies
• Experience with Unreal Engine graphics pipeline
