General Background:

The Digital Media Executive of Brand and Multichannel Marketing is responsible for providing marketing and administrative support to both the Vice President and Executive Director of Brand and Multichannel Marketing across pre-sales and post-sales activities in Asia at Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Based in Hong Kong, this position will report to the Vice President, Brand & Multichannel Marketing, Asia.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Marketing (55%)

  • Assist the Asia Marketing Team in creating PowerPoint presentations with marketing ideas to engage and pitch clients to promote SPE movies; and create top-notch pitch decks for premium window and multi-year deals.

  • Create excellent PowerPoint presentations for SPE feature films, acquisitions, and original productions for pre sales’ campaigns.

  • Create marketing guides with feature film information and marketing assets for new product releases in the Home Entertainment window.

  • Help coordinate and deliver consumer-facing (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) marketing campaigns, as defined by the marketing strategy, to support ongoing promotional and launch activities for clients who have licensed Sony Pictures content.

  • Compile post-campaign reports and complete sales and marketing analysis when required.

  • Consolidate all premiums, publicity, and call-out requests such as promotion lines, interviews, set visits, premiere events, etc. Communicate with the broader Asia Marketing Team across India, Southeast Asia, Korea, China, and Japan, when requests are required, and coordinate with vendors and the Home Office in Los Angeles to ensure requests are submitted and fulfilled. Dispatch the assets to each office.

  • Deliver marketing assets (on/off air) to clients via an in-house website.

  • Provide localization and translation support when needed.

  • Copywriting (social media posts and others) when required.

  • Create/edit videos and image assets for social media posts when required.

  • Coordinate and place Value Added Material (VAM) orders and keep track of the usage of VAM per client/territory.

  • Manage and customize promotional assets, including VAM, to ensure all major clients in every window have something special (and exclusive, if possible) to promote SPE content.

  • Assist the Executive Director in TV series pre-sales activities such as our B2B campaigns, EDM distributions, CRM management using Sales Force, physical desk drops, or other digital communication channels.

  • Keep track of competitive marketing activities and share best practices, both internal and competitive, with the team.

  • Support the Vice President and Executive Director on pan-regional projects, when required.

  • Ad hoc projects when required.

Administration (25%)

Responsible for essential administrative tasks that facilitate the efficient daily operation of the Brand & Multichannel Marketing team across Asia. Tasks encompass various responsibilities such as:

  • Assist with organizing and managing various industry events such as trade shows, content showcases, local screenings, regional events, conferences, and publicity events, including talent tours ensuring that events are executed smoothly by handling logistics and operations.

  • Monitoring marketing expenses, which involves creating new vendor requests and purchase orders, following up on payments to vendors for relevant marketing expenses, and maintaining a record of marketing expenses.

  • Source new premium ideas and festival gifts for marketing and trade events and clients, ensuring competitive pricing. Responsible for tracking the inventory of premiums stored in an external warehouse.

  • External vendor management, including but not limited to a warehouse, designer, and printing agencies.

  • Update and maintain client and agency database.

  • Handle office administrative work, including travel arrangements for the team and/or overseas guests and filling up gift/GERF approval forms.

  • Other ad-hoc administration assignments as required.

Digital Media Buy (20%)

  • Assist local teams across Asia in the formulation of their digital media buy campaigns and overall media strategy. Provide insights, and recommendations, share learnings, and ensure the media budget is aligned with sales goals.

  • Monitor active campaigns, reviewing daily/weekly reports. Make recommendations on campaign adjustments. Must have knowledge and understanding of media KPI metrics and analytics.

  • Gather and read all media performance reports including but not limited to social listening, post-theatrical campaign reports, trailer drops, brand lift studies, and others, across social media. Prepare executive summaries and share key takeaways with the team in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for building relationships with agencies, local Sony Pictures Releasing International teams, and the SPE international media teams.

  • Schedule regular meetings with the local teams from our global agencies (UM, OMD, Dentsu), and brief them on release plans of SPE movies in the Home Entertainment and TV Distribution windows. Solicit learnings from the Theatrical release and share with the team.

  • Responsible for overseeing new media and marketing trends in Southeast Asia, Greater China, India and South Asia, South Korea, and Japan, and implementing the learnings into active and future campaigns.

  • Work with the strategy and research teams to build out Media Playbooks with oversight from the VP of International Media, Strategy, and Operations.

  • Serve as the regular contact with the Media buy and Data analysis team and represent local needs to the Home Office.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Typically at least 5 years of marketing experience across traditional and digital media in Media and/or Technology companies. Possesses experience in an advertising agency with media buying experience a plus.

  • The ideal candidate should be able to manage both B2B and consumer marketing activities.

  • A working knowledge of the new media landscape, and an expert in social media marketing tools and methodologies.

  • Pro-active organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

  • Keen eye for detail and a strong focus on accuracy.

  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion.

  • Fluent in English and strong communication skills (verbal and written). The ability to speak other Asian languages is a plus.

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a team-player attitude.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint including the ability to prepare dynamic PowerPoint presentations. Adobe suite software, including Photoshop and Premiere is required.

  • University graduate in marketing, advertising, business, communication, or another related field.

  • Passion for marketing and associated digital technology with a passion for entertainment and pop culture.
