Job Details
Based in our Tokyo office, the role of Business Analyst will collaborate with Asia Pacific IT and global application support teams to provide business applications support and executes project tasks as required to deliver process improvement solutions that add value to Sony Pictures Entertainment’s businesses.
Reporting to the IT Manager in Tokyo, in this position you will work closely with regional and global support teams and will provide business analysis and application support to Sony Pictures users in Japan and across the APAC region. You will also support and participate in local and regional finance and business application projects.
Key Responsibilities Include
Applications:
Incident reporting, troubleshooting and resolution of business applications such as SAP, Ariba, BW, Concur and other applications across several lines of business as determined by IT management
Working with relevant executives to determine and deliver local finance and business needs
Ensuring interfaces between applications are maintained
Finance and business application reporting requirements gathering and development (locally or in coordination with development team)
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes
Perform change management impact analysis for applications and processes
Implement application enhancements and process changes
Prepare and conduct demonstrations and trainings
Coordinate, perform and document in-depth tests and end-user reviews of application upgrades and/ or enhancements
Ensure that all applications, enhancements, and processes are properly documented and maintained
Lead and promote process improvement
Projects:
Actively participate in local, regional, and global IT projects to ensure projects are delivered successfully
Manage project scope, priorities, timeline, and budget
Lead business users and stakeholders to understand end-to-end business process impact and benefits
Prepare and conduct demonstrations and trainings
Facilitate user testing and document results in detail
Candidate Requirements
A University degree in Information Technology or related field such as Business
Typically a minimum of 3 years’ business analysis experience in IT working directly with business users/ customers of all levels
Knowledge of SAP Financial Accounting and finance processes is required
Strong documentation skills in both English and Japanese languages, being able to communicate concisely and persuasively
Strong communication skills in both English and Japanese languages - verbal, written, listening and presentation
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with business users to apply technology and process improvement solutions
Self-starter, quick learner with the ability to work under limited supervision and seek assistance where necessary.
Able to manage customer expectations
Ability to multitask and “think outside the box”
Desire and ability to work across several technologies
Desire and ability to work across different lines of business and territories in Asia Pacific
Experience as a team player in a project would be highly regarded
Experience in project management would be highly regarded
Experience in working effectively as part of an international team would be highly regarded
Experience in finance or entertainment industry would be highly regarded
