The SPT China TV Distribution team is responsible for the licensing and distribution of SPT’s extensive portfolio of premium content, including feature films, TV series, anime, animation, scripted and non-scripted formats, across all media platforms in China and Mongolia.

Based in Beijing and reporting to the Head of Distribution, China, the Distribution Manager plays a key role in driving the commercial success of SPT’s content portfolio in the region.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute the business strategy and manage content sales and distribution across all media platforms in China and Mongolia, maximizing revenue opportunities for SPT’s content portfolio.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution channels to drive incremental revenue growth.

  • Manage the end-to-end content licensing process, including deal modeling and valuation, commercial negotiations, internal approvals, contract execution, and ongoing client management.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing a deep understanding of clients’ business objectives, strategies, and market challenges.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to plan and implement promotional campaigns aimed at enhancing the content performance on the clients’ platforms.

  • Work closely with Sales Planning and Research teams to monitor and analyze sales performance data, identify growth opportunities and optimize the performance-based revenue.

  • Support the Head of Distribution, China in the preparation and submission of detailed annual sales forecast, budgets and business plans in partnership with the Sales Planning and Finance teams.

  • Collaborate effectively with the Sales Planning, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Research teams, and other divisions of Sony Pictures and Sony related companies.

  • Explore opportunities to acquire local productions and content for international distribution.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Media, or a related discipline.

  • Typically a minimum of 5 years of experience in content sales, content acquisition, and/or account management within the entertainment and media industry.

  • Proven track record in negotiating, structuring, and managing content licensing agreements.

  • Strong understanding of the China media landscape, including both traditional linear television and digital streaming platforms.

  • Demonstrated customer-centric mindset with excellent relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills.

  • Highly analytical with advanced proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling using Excel and other reporting tools.

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures, regions, and cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Native Mandarin speaker with full professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of the U.S. entertainment industry, media ecosystem, and China's evolving social media landscape is highly desirable.

  • Experience in local content production and development is a plus.
