The Art Director is a key creative leader responsible for shaping visual direction and driving the design execution for marketing campaigns across the Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune franchises. They will also work closely with the Game Show Group development team on new shows and sales creative. Working under the Executive Creative Director, this role conceptually and visually elevates all creative materials—broadcast promos, digital and social assets, brand campaigns, key art, pitch materials, on-set graphics, and franchise extensions. The ideal candidate blends strong conceptual thinking, hands-on design skills, and the ability to provide insightful feedback. This person is self-motivated and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced entertainment marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Direction & Concept Development

  • Develop compelling visual concepts for integrated campaigns across broadcast, streaming, digital, social, and brand initiatives.
  • Translate creative strategy into strong visual narratives, mood boards, style frames, and design systems.
  • Partner closely with writers, producers, editors, and designers to shape cohesive creative ideas from pitch to final execution.
  • Support the Executive Creative Director in defining and maintaining the brand expression and visual standards of both franchises.

Design & Execution

  • Create high-impact design assets including key art, promo graphics, digital/social layouts, typography systems, thumbnails, presentations, and animation briefs.
  • Provide hands-on design work using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.) to bring concepts to life.
  • Guide designers (static and motion) by delivering clear visual direction, templates, and design toolkits.
  • Ensure all art delivered aligns with franchise identity, tone, and platform-specific requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Social & Digital, and Production to ensure creative alignment across all touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with show-side partners and internal stakeholders to incorporate episodic elements, contestant imagery, set visuals, and talent photography into marketing materials.
  • Provide creative support for franchise initiatives, partnership campaigns, special episodes, and development projects.

Ownership of Visual Standards

  • Maintain brand consistency across all assets, ensuring visual integrity and quality regardless of platform or format.
  • Help develop and document brand guidelines, toolkits, and asset libraries.
  • Champion innovative creative approaches that modernize and elevate franchise visuals while honoring legacy.

Team Support & Creative Oversight

  • Provide direction, feedback, and inspiration to designers and junior creative staff.
  • Support the Executive Creative Director in shaping creative workflows, reviewing work, and ensuring deliverables meet both conceptual and technical standards.
  • Help uphold a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high-performance within the creative team.

Qualifications

  • 6–8+ years of experience in creative marketing, design, or art direction within entertainment, broadcast, streaming, or digital media
  • Strong portfolio showcasing campaign development, visual storytelling, brand design, and multi-platform creative.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and experience guiding motion/animation workflows.
  • Strong conceptual thinker with the ability to translate ideas into polished, on-brand visual systems.
  • Experience developing creative for iconic brands, entertainment IP, or character-driven storytelling is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; able to articulate ideas clearly to cross-functional partners.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing multiple creative projects simultaneously.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $117,866 – 153,225. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
