Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is seeking an experienced Director, Finance Transformation, to lead high-impact initiatives that advance the evolution of SPE’s global Finance function. This role sits within the Finance Transformation team—SPE’s internal consulting and change-leadership group—and partners closely with senior Finance, Technology, and Business leaders across Motion Pictures, Television, Networks, Corporate Functions, Development, Marketing, and Distribution.

The Director will own a portfolio of complex transformation initiatives, drive strategic decision-making, and ensure delivery of measurable business value. This role requires a blend of financial expertise, strategic thinking, executive presence, and hands-on leadership.  The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape the future of Finance at Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct end-to-end finance transformation initiatives, including operating model design, process optimization, and system-enabled change, driving results through disciplined project management and change leadership.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance and the business—from Analysts through the CFO—to map key systems and end-to-end processes, manage ambiguity, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and drive alignment on prioritized opportunities.
  • Own and direct delivery of multiple, concurrent initiatives, ensuring clear objectives, timelines, governance, and measurable outcomes while optimizing work processes and managing cross-team conflict.
  • Proactively develop and recommend future-state designs, including process, operating model, and system changes, and communicate relevant transformation roadmaps, business cases, and value realization plans using structured, Minto Memo–style logic.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Finance leadership, providing insights, recommendations, and thought leadership, and influencing executive decision-making through clear storytelling and well-structured PowerPoint materials.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and change impacts; proactively manage mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee analytical frameworks, financial models, and KPIs used to assess performance and value creation.
  • Guide the adoption and change management efforts to ensure sustainable implementation, aligning stakeholders, and reinforcing new ways of working.
  • Coach and mentor analysts and managers, fostering strong analytical rigor, collaboration, and professional growth while attracting and developing top talent.
  • Support the Office of the CFO on enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and executive-level communications.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, analytics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in finance, consulting, or transformation roles, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, accounting, reporting, and analytics processes and systems.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex topics and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build business cases, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Experience with finance systems, data platforms, and analytics tools; advanced Excel required; knowledge of SAP S4/HANA is a plus.
  • Strong project and change management capabilities; Agile or structured transformation experience a plus.
  • High level of judgment, accountability, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing teams.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $150,000-$175,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
