Sony Pictures Television’s Nonfiction group is the feature documentary, premium content, and reality unit within Sony Pictures Television (SPT). Through ownership interests in or with production companies Sharp Entertainment, The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), B17 Entertainment, 19 Entertainment, This Machine Filmworks, Brass Monkeys Media, UnConventional and Maxine, the group creates and produces content in every form of programming for audiences worldwide. Key programs include the global hit “American Idol” and “So You Can Think You Can Dance”, each co-produced by 19 Entertainment for ABC and Fox, respectively, Sharp Entertainment’s “90 Day Fiancé” franchise for TLC; IPC’s Emmy®-winning hit documentary series “ “With Love, Megan” for Netflix and “Selena+Chef” for HBO Max; B17 Entertainment’s “Extraction” for Fox; and “Quiet On The Set” and “Fall of Diddy” for ID/HBO Max. Additionally, 19 Recordings has launched the music careers of Platinum artists, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Phillip Phillips, Lauren Alaina; and more recently, “American Idol” winner Jamal Roberts, along with prior contestants such as Iam Tongi, Chayce Beckham and Colin Stough.

POSITION DETAILS

Seeking an Executive Assistant to the CEO of The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) / President of the Sony Nonfiction Television Group at Sony Pictures Television (SPT). IPC specializes in premium documentary series, unscripted series, and feature documentaries. We also have several scripted series and features in the pipeline. If you are interested in becoming a studio executive or a producer/executive in non-fiction, there is no greater opportunity. Aside from standard assistant duties, you will be able to do creative work on our projects and work with the development team, learn in-depth about the business side of entertainment, and be exposed to the production process/set etc. This is a position that, in success, has tremendous upward mobility and can be your last assistant job if you put in the work. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, entrepreneurial, detail oriented, and proactive. You must have experience as an assistant at a network, streamer, agency, or production company, and a passion for the non-fiction space is highly recommended. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages executive’s calendar; schedules/coordinates meetings; handles any meeting preparation. 
  • Rolling and tracking calls.
  • Prepare documents, research, and presentations for high-level meetings.
  • Liaising across the studio and division efficiently and effectively
  • Drafts correspondence for executive (agendas, weekly memos, occasional emails/letters, etc.) 
  • Processes and tracks billing, expense reports, etc. 
  • Book complex travel, both domestic and international 
  • Ensure office procedures run smoothly, efficiently, and effectively. 
  • Other general administrative duties (processing mail, copying, gifting, etc.) 
  • Miscellaneous duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-4 years as an executive assistant on a senior-level desk in the entertainment industry; agency experience preferred.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize to ensure all assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Must be flexible – an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision.
  • Common sense, dependability, loyalty, discretion, resourceful, maturity and attention to detail are required.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral (must have a professional and courteous demeanor).

The anticipated base salary for this position is $66,650 to 78,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
