REQ ID JR108557 Apply View Saved JobsSony Pictures Entertainment is searching for an exceptional mid-level attorney to join its Corporate Legal Team at its headquarters in Culver City California This attorney will advisethe Studio on corporate and commercial matters and transactions worldwide, including M&A, investments, joint ventures and corporate governance.In addition to at least four years of corporate transactional experience with a major law firm or a sophisticated in-house legal department, the successful candidate will be collaborative, solution oriented, analytical, have excellent judgement, and be unafraid to give practical advice in light ofrisks. Most importantly, because the media and entertainment business continues to rapidly evolve and adopt new business models, we are looking for someone who is curious, willing to go outside their comfort zone, and eager to learn new areas of the law and business and take on new challenges.
Sony Pictures is presented with a variety of strategic and complex deals on a regular basis, with the Corporate Legal Team at the forefront of the negotiations of those deals.We are team-oriented, working in close collaborationin the deal process with senior business and legal executives across all lines of business and subject matter expertise, from drafting, negotiation, closing and post-closing integration.
The successful candidate will also be the primary attorney overseeing Sony Pictures’ corporate entity governance rationalization process, advising on the integration and dissolution of subsidiaries worldwide and the inter-company transfer of IP and other assets. Valuable areas of expertise include M&A, complex commercial transactions, corporate governance,IP, and experience in developing and implementing business processes.
Requirements:
Minimum of four years of experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions.
Excellent communication and drafting skills.
Able to problem-solve in a professional, creative, and ethical manner.
Able to work both independently and as a team player.
Able to work on, and balance, multiple transactions at the same time.
Assertive yet diplomatic, detail-oriented, and able to accommodate tight deadlines.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $170,000-$225,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
