Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Finance Transformation, to play a key role in advancing high-impact initiatives that support the evolution of SPE’s global Finance function.

This role sits within the Finance Transformation team—SPE’s internal consulting and change-leadership group—and partners closely with Finance, Technology, and Business stakeholders across Motion Pictures, Television, Networks, Corporate Functions, Development, Marketing, and Distribution.

The Senior Manager will lead key transformation initiatives and workstreams, contribute to strategic decision-making, and ensure delivery of measurable business value. This role requires a blend of financial expertise, structured problem-solving, hands-on project management, and strong technology acumen—including experience evaluating and applying analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions within finance contexts—along with emerging leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate has a strong technology aptitude, an excellent understanding of modern finance operations, and experience implementing modern technology enablers including one or more of data mesh, machine learning, workflow automation, or AI-enabled tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Finance Transformation Execution & Delivery
    • Lead and execute finance transformation initiatives and/or workstreams—including process optimization and system- and data-enabled change—driving delivery through disciplined project management and structured problem-solving.
    • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Technology, and the business to map systems and end-to-end processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop actionable recommendations. Key activities include problem structuring, process mapping, gap analysis, RAID logs, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
    • Develop clear and structured communications, including presentations that outline problems, analyses, and recommended solutions with associated tradeoffs.
    • Drive execution of initiatives by managing timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while collaborating across teams.
    • Evaluate advanced technologies (e.g., AI/ML, intelligent automation, data platforms) and assess fit for enterprise architecture and finance use cases, partnering with Technology teams to inform solution selection and implementation approaches.
    • Support the development of future-state process and system improvements, leveraging analytics, automation, and emerging capabilities where appropriate.
  • Governance, Risk & Change Management
    • Identify and track risks, dependencies, and change impacts, including system and data considerations; support mitigation planning and execution.
    • Contribute to performance tracking and benefit realization efforts, including KPIs and post-implementation assessments.
    • Support change management and adoption activities to reinforce new processes and tools.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
    • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to drive alignment and progress across initiatives.
    • Present progress, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders, with guidance as needed for more complex or high-visibility topics.
    • Collaborate with technical teams to inform solution design and support implementation.
  • Leadership & Development
    • Mentor analysts and junior team members, fostering strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support knowledge sharing across the Finance Transformation function.
    • Support broader Finance Transformation and CFO-led initiatives as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, analytics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Approximately 6–8 years of experience in finance, consulting, or transformation roles with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
  • Experience supporting or leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, accounting, reporting, and analytics processes and systems.
  • Experience working within SAP-based finance environments (e.g., S/4HANA) preferred, including familiarity with analytics, automation, or AI-enabled tools.
  • Experience contributing to automation or AI-enabled initiatives within finance organizations preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex topics and present to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure problems, perform analysis, and develop data-informed recommendations.
  • Solid project management and delivery capabilities; Agile or structured transformation experience a plus.
  • Ability to operate effectively in moderately ambiguous environments with guidance as needed.
  • Collaborative working style with experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
  • High level of accountability, attention to detail, and focus on delivering quality outcomes.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for emerging technologies, with experience exploring or applying advanced analytics, automation, or AI/agentic solutions in a business or finance setting preferred.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $140,000-$160,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
