This role will focus on developing a data-driven strategy to enhance experiences for internal stakeholders. As the world’s largest independent studio, Sony Pictures Television produces original content for streaming and linear networks globally, including popular series across various genres. The Senior Vice President, Data Analytics will report to the Executive Vice President of Insights, Strategy & Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a high-performance data science team, providing strategic direction, innovative vision, and mentor.
- Data Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive data and analytics strategy that aligns with business objectives and enhances decision-making.
- Agile Methodology: Utilize agile methodologies to develop data products efficiently in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
- Advanced Data Applications: Lead a team to create or evaluate advanced data applications that meet the needs of key business stakeholders.
- Data Stewardship: Establish best practices for data management and governance, ensuring compliance with security and privacy regulations.
- AI and Analytics Integration: Promote the adoption of AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to optimize business operations.
- Data Infrastructure Management: Oversee the modernization and scalability of data infrastructure for consistent enterprise access.
- Business Intelligence: Enable real-time business intelligence capabilities and create dashboards that cater to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to ensure alignment of data initiatives with organizational priorities and translate technical concepts into understandable insights.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a diverse and high-performing analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Innovation Tracking: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
- Experience:15+ years in data and analytics leadership roles, ideally in large or rapidly growing organizations. Candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in big data, AI, machine learning, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.
- Data Governance Knowledge:Understanding of data compliance and cybersecurity best practices.
- Modern Data Architecture: Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL processes is beneficial.
- BI Tools Proficiency:Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and programming languages like Python and SQL is a plus.
- Data Science Leadership: Experience managing data science teams and leading predictive modeling efforts is valuable.
- Communication Skills:Ability to convey complex data concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Experience in the media and entertainment industry is a plus, but candidates from other industries are welcome to apply.
- Passion for Entertainment: A genuine interest in film and television is appreciated but not mandatory.
- Strategic Mindset:Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative Team Builder: Experience working in diverse, multicultural, and international environments.
- Presentation Skills:Strong visual and verbal communication skills for engaging with executive-level audiences.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $ 280,000 to $350,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
