REQ ID JR113650 Apply View Saved JobsBased in the Philippines, the Manager, Global Accounting: Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) is a key member of the Global Finance Operations (GFO) team contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of monthly and quarterly close activities and corporate reporting submissions. This role also contributes to finance transformation efforts through process simplification, reporting enhancements, and the adoption of automation technologies and supports financial operations across the following areas:
Domestic Home Entertainment - SPHE, Crunchyroll, and third-party distributor
International Home Entertainment - EMEA and APAC
What you will do:
Financial Close & Reporting
Responsible for accurate and timely month-end close activities, accounts reconciliations, and corporate reporting.
Perform detailed variance analyses and investigate unusual trends, fluctuations, and business drivers impacting financial results.
Review Balance Sheet accounts and validate assumptions and methodologies for key reserves and accruals such as Return Reserve, Rebate Accrual, Inventory Obsolescence.
Ensure accuracy of Revenues, Contra Revenues, Manufacturing Costs, Distribution Costs, and Marketing expenses at the title / territory / market detailed level.
Derive Direct Operating Cash Flow from Indirect and prepare reconciliation for actual cash flow vs. budget/forecast.
Prepare and review corporate close packages, disclosure schedules, and supporting analyses, ensuring completeness and compliance with corporate reporting requirements.
Provide GFO support to Crunchyroll domestic physical distribution including monthly Flash, special reports, master data accuracy, and ad hoc requests.
Operational Leadership
Review accounting activities performed by Capgemini (SPE’s third party provider of accounting services) and provide feedback to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
Review Capgemini Desk Top Procedures and Cadency Tasks to make sure they are up to date.
Provide guidance to Capgemini and training on new processes and critical tasks.
Process Improvement & Transformation
Participate in and support finance transformation initiatives, process enhancements, and automation projects.
Responsible for SPHE User Acceptance Tests due to implementation of new processes or enhancements.
What you need:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
Typically 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting processes, and SAP/BW reporting tools
Strong MS Excel skills required
Experience working with outsourced finance service providers preferred
U.S. company experience preferred

Able to work the night shift to accommodate U.S. business hours (approximately 12am to 9am Manila Time).
