SPE Finance and Accounting is transforming into a global, enterprise-based organization focused on process improvement, standardization, simplification, and efficient use of technology. The Global Finance Operations (GFO) team is responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting while partnering with business and FP&A teams to drive performance.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Manager, Global Accounting – TV Distribution to join our team in the Philippines.
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end financial close process, including reporting, analysis, and process performance across the territories, legal entities or processes for the assigned areas within Worldwide TV Distribution.
This role serves as a key liaison between GFO teams, Divisional Finance, local/regional stakeholders, and outsourced providers (e.g., Capgemini), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, operational consistency, and continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for delivering outcomes, setting priorities, effectively utilizing resources, and managing the day-to-day performance and output quality of outsourced providers (e.g., Capgemini), ensuring consistent delivery and alignment with process expectations, while supporting statutory audit requirements, tax reporting processes, and local compliance support for assigned areas.
What you’ll do
1. Close & Control (Financial Integrity & Compliance)
Manage execution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for assigned areas, which may include LOB, territory, legal entity, or process responsibilities.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of overhead and costs, related Balance Sheet accounts, financial reporting, and close outputs aligned with SPE global accounting standards and local statutory requirements as applicable.
Enforce standards and suggest improvements through review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, close schedules, accruals, reclasses, allocations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules for Worldwide Distribution costs, overhead, and reporting packages.
Own the analysis and validation of key accounting areas for assigned areas, including revenue, reserves, accruals, inventory, prepaids, deferred revenue, intercompany balances, leases, or other complex accounting areas as applicable.
Own variance (flux) analysis, investigate key drivers, and escalate operational, accounting, reporting, or compliance risks as appropriate.
Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, company policies, SOX controls, and established operational procedures for assigned areas.
Support statutory reporting alignment, internal and external audit readiness, audit requests, documentation, remediation activities, and issue resolution for assigned areas.
Ensure integrity of financial statements, disclosures, reporting outputs, and operational accounting support for assigned areas.
Oversee and provide guidance to outsourced service providers (e.g., Capgemini), including reviewing deliverables, providing feedback, and ensuring quality and timeliness of outputs.
2. Business Support (Insights & Decision Enablement)
Deliver actual vs. budget/forecast analysis and explain variances for assigned areas and compare actual results with commitments over time.
Validate reports to the general ledger and applicable source data.
Produce monthly cost reports, overhead reports, close summaries, supplemental schedules, cash reports, balance-sheet support, spent-and-committed analyses, and management presentation input
Provide financial insights to support business performance, operational decision-making, and timely issue resolution.
Research material differences, coding errors, unusual activity, and spending trends, and prepare clear explanations for review by the Finance Manager and FP&A.
Support ad hoc analysis and reporting for FP&A, Operations, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders as applicable.
Analyze financial drivers such as detailed marketing, releasing and distribution costs, pre-paid and other balance sheet accounts, cash flow, or territory/entity impacts as applicable.
Review and interpret financial results at detailed levels (e.g., title, product, territory, legal entity, or process level).
Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, support governance alignment, and improve financial outcomes.
3. BPO Management & Operational Execution
Manage day-to-day coordination with outsourced service provider teams (e.g., Capgemini) for assigned areas.
Monitor service delivery effectiveness, workload management, timeliness, quality, and adherence to process expectations.
Support operational governance, KPI/SLA reviews, issue resolution, and escalation management processes.
Support operational transition, standardization, and process alignment activities across internal and outsourced teams.
Ensure operational execution aligns with established controls, governance framework, and service expectations.
4. Transformation (Process, Systems & Operational Excellence)
Review and maintain process documentation, including Desk Top Procedures, process maps, and Cadency tasks.
Drive process improvement, standardization, and simplification initiatives for assigned areas.
Identify, assess, and escalate process gaps, operational risks, service delivery inefficiencies, and opportunities to eliminate low-value activities.
Review assigned templates for formula inconsistencies, hard-coded values, duplicated calculations, missing validation checks, inefficient manual steps, and unclear user instructions.
Use GPT, where approved, to assist with formula recommendations, documentation, and workflow drafts, and validate all outputs before submitting them for review.
Support automation and technology enablement initiatives; lead assigned workstreams as appropriate.
Ensure master data integrity and support data governance efforts for assigned areas.
Support implementation of the GFO operating model, Global Close initiatives, and scalable operating practices within assigned areas.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Operations, Technology, GFO, and global/regional teams.
Serve as a key escalation point for operational, accounting, reporting, and process-related issues within assigned areas.
Communicate effectively across global, regional, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Support a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational consistency.
Manage or oversee team deliverables, providing direction, prioritization, coaching, and feedback for assigned areas.
What you need
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business;
CPA or CPA candidate preferred;
Typically 5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including close/reporting ownership;
Prior people leadership or outsourced provider oversight preferred.
Experience supporting LOB, territory, legal entity, or shared service accounting environments is a plus.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), financial reporting, controls, and ERP systems (SAP preferred);
Advanced Excel skills.
Experience with close/reporting tools, Cadency, SAC, BW, or other reporting/automation tools is a plus.

Working hours
This position supports our U.S. business and therefore requires a permanent night shift of 12:00am to 9:00am Manila time.
Candidates must be comfortable and able to work these hours on an ongoing basis.
