Role Summary
Sony Pictures Entertainment is looking for a visionary VP of Creative with a strong sense of storytelling, a collaborative mindset, and great passion for entertainment. The VP of Creative will lead Sony Pictures Entertainment and Television (SPE/SPT) creative efforts in Latin America, including Brazil. The VP is responsible for overseeing the creative development and execution of content, promotional materials, and branding efforts across all lines of business and media platforms (digital and linear).
This role will lead a team of creative professionals, and collaborate with marketing, production, creative operations and programming teams to create compelling, innovative and data-driven digital and linear campaigns that enhance audience engagement and reinforce the brand’s position in the entertainment industry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results through creativity and the ability to push creative boundaries while staying aligned with the company’s objectives.
Responsibilities
Creative Leadership:
- Lead the creative development of online, offline, and on-air campaigns for shows, network promotions, branded content and new products.
- Provide creative direction for SPE's assets in Latin America, ensuring all output aligns with the brand's tone and aesthetic.
- Mentor and manage the creative services team, including designers, copywriters, video editors, and motion graphic artists, ensuring innovative and high-quality creative deliverables.
Strategic Campaign Development:
- Collaborate with marketing, programming, and content production teams to design creative campaigns that support all new product launches, channel branding, and promotional efforts.
- Develop digital and linear promotional assets for content priorities, events, and specials to maximize viewer engagement and ratings.
- Ensure that all creative work enhances the business's competitive edge in a fast-paced and evolving entertainment landscape.
Brand Stewardship:
- Reinforce and guide internal requests for all Branding needs.
- Oversee the execution of a consistent and engaging visual and creative identity for the different businesses and brands across all platforms, including broadcast, streaming, digital, and events.
- Innovate new ways to push the brand forward visually while maintaining continuity and brand guidelines.
- Ensure all creative assets adhere to compliance and copyright standards.
- Oversee all SPE and SPT Brand architecture, guidelines and applications are met in all creative executions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with content producers, product, marketing, and DABI (data analytics and business intelligence) teams to understand creative needs for both new and existing programming.
- Partner with external agencies, production companies, and freelancers as necessary to deliver top-tier creative assets.
Project & Team Management:
- Manage multiple creative projects, balancing priorities and timelines to ensure timely delivery of assets that meet the business and creative goals.
- Foster a collaborative environment, motivating the team to develop breakthrough creative work.
Innovation & Industry Awareness:
- Stay current with the latest trends in the entertainment industry, marketing, and technology to ensure the creative output is fresh, cutting-edge, and engaging.
- Continuously seek ways to push the envelope in creative content production and storytelling for TV and digital platforms.
Job Requirements
10+ years of experience in creative roles, with at least 10 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in television, media, or entertainment. Extensive experience in the digital space.
Proven track record of developing digital and linear creative assets for major entertainment or media brands.
Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality creative campaigns across multiple platforms (Digital and TV).
Expertise in overseeing video production, editing, graphic design, and content creation for television and entertainment.
Proficient in industry-standard creative software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.) and Office Suite.
Ability to create decks and present in person and virtually.
Extensive experience with creation of engaging content on digital platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, X, Amazon, etc.)
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to inspire and direct a team of creative professionals.
Deep understanding of broadcast production, digital marketing trends, and the evolving entertainment landscape.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects.
Full Fluency in English and Spanish are required (written/spoken). Portuguese is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree is required with emphasis in bachelor’s degree in film, graphic design or a related field. MBA preferred.
