This position tracks, receives, secures, ingests, and archives post media and equipment for SPT Nonfiction. This position provides proper tracking and turnover of all physical loaner computers, monitors, drives, computer peripherals, etc.  This position facilitates media management from the field, including transfer, duplication, and transcoding media for processing, and archive. This position also facilitates media searches and repopulates archived media for editorial, upon request.

Responsibilities:

  • Catalog, copy, ingest, transcode, group, sync and archive media
  • Act as Assistant editor as needed
  • Export select media for transcription
  • Facilitate communications between corporate post department and show teams with regard to media movement and transcoding
  • Facilitates edit equipment install
  • Tech Support Proxy for IT and Post Installs and Troubleshooting (perhaps to replace onsite troubleshooting, as needed)
  • Monitor long term file transfers
  • Manages remote screenings including Zoom Room set up and scheduling
  • Onboard editors, AEs, and producers for remote editorial
  • (Vault) Asset/equipment logging, checkout, and cleaning
  • Track system movement and update Sonderplan as needed
  • Update Cheqroom database (or similar asset tracking) including drive tracking
  • Asset/equipment packaging, imaging, stocking peripherals
  • Delivery/pick up of media assets, purchases, and rentals
  • Support Technical Supervisor and Manager in the audit of incremental back-up/archive to LTO
  • Support Technical Supervisor and Manager to maintain archive libraries and servers
  • Onsite receipt and return of media cards and post elements as needed
  • Onsite mounting and swapping hard drives, as needed
  • Onsite patching and hard restart of computers, as needed
  • Onsite troubleshooting, as needed

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Attend daily Post meetings
  • Attend Weekly Post Operations Meetings

Qualifications:

  • Technical background
  • Experience with storage DNAevolution
  • Familiar with Avid Media Composer/Nexis environments and management
  • Experience with both Mac and PC operating systems
  • Experience with Post production workflows such as transcoding, file transfers, link hosting sites, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift 30 lbs.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $58,000 to 65,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
