Reporting to the VP Research EMEA, the Research Manager is the local research lead for France within the EMEA Research team.
This is a 9-month fixed-term contract (end of August 2026 to mid-May 2027), based in Neuilly-sur-Seine (Paris).
The role supports Sony Pictures Television’s content licensing, channels, and home entertainment businesses by delivering robust, market-driven insights. Acting as the key research contact for the France territory team, the Research Manager ensures that audience data, consumer trends and market analysis effectively inform local business decisions.
Working within the wider EMEA Research structure, the role collaborates closely with regional peers to ensure consistency of methodologies, knowledge sharing and best practice alignment.
What you'll do:
Market & Audience Analysis
- Act as the France market expert within the EMEA Research team.
- Deliver audience and market analysis to support content licensing, channel performance and home entertainment activities.
- Monitor and interpret market trends, consumer behaviour and competitive landscape developments across linear, streaming and transactional models.
- Analyse performance of feature films and TV content using a variety of data sources.
Research Project Management
- Design, manage and deliver quantitative and qualitative research projects aligned with business needs.
- Interpret complex datasets and translate them into clear, practical insights.
- Ensure timely delivery of research outputs with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Work with internal tools, primary research and third-party data providers to maintain a comprehensive view of the market.
Stakeholder Support & Collaboration
- Present findings in a clear and concise manner to internal stakeholders.
- Support client meetings and industry initiatives with relevant data and insights.
- Build effective working relationships with business teams, regional research colleagues and external suppliers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of audience measurement systems and industry standards.
What you have:
- Approximately 6-8 years’ experience in audience research, media research or insight roles within a studio, broadcaster, platform, agency or related environment.
- Strong understanding of the French media landscape and viewing behaviours.
- Advanced user of audience measurement tools across linear, streaming and transactional environments (including Médiamétrie and Aqoa).
- Solid experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritise effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly and confidently.
- High level of organisation and attention to detail.
- Passion for film and television, with strong knowledge of Hollywood movies, U.S. TV series and the evolving French content landscape.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
