Television and Home Entertainment Distribution Marketing Strategy

  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing, Co-Country Manager and Director of Features Marketing to implement the Canadian marketing strategy across Sony Pictures’ new release feature films, tv series, film catalogue and third-party film content.
  • Manage media planning and optimization across digital, social, search and traditional channels
  • Work with the studio’s theatrical and home entertainment marketers to execute marketing strategies in English and French Canada
  • Communicate the future features slate to internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain strong understanding of television and home entertainment distribution
  • Analyze and study the tv and film library; keep the theatrical slate presentation materials updated for internal and external presentations.

GTM (Go-to-Market) New Release Feature Film Strategy, Publicity and Consumer Media

  • Define title specific New Release feature film campaign strategies that best drive conversation in digital home entertainment window
  • Manage title level P&L
  • Adapt and tailor U.S. media briefs to Canada, and share the media strategy with the media agencies
  • Review and approve media plans and communicate campaign progress across the team
  • Prepare publicity and digital marketing briefs for agencies; communicate press opportunities with talent and review final proposals
  • Analyze marketing data and provide internal and external
  • Identify home entertainment release opportunities across Sony sister companies: PlayStation, Consumer Electronics, and Music.

Account Management – Digital Home Entertainment Retail accounts and Streaming clients

  • Work with Director, Features Marketing to create title-level home entertainment plans, focusing on franchise film and tv content
  • Manage B2B marketing support of the Canadian Home Entertainment digital retail accounts
  • Support Home Entertainment sales team by using data, market research and platform understanding to guide local shopper marketing
  • Draft sales presentations, market updates and deliver creative to help sales team promote content
  • Understand home entertainment retailer’s capabilities and define strategies on how to best merchandise film and tv content on streaming platforms
  • Host monthly client/account meetings

Third Party Product Support

  • Support brand management of 3rd party including Crunchyroll
  • Working directly with Crunchyroll team to understand key priority releases
  • Working alongside Marketing team to create of the monthly sales presentations

Vendor Management and Finance

  • Work alongside Dir. Features Marketing and Supervisor on quarterly/annual Digital Home Entertainment Marketing budget review
  • Manage invoice submissions, vet incoming vendor invoices
  • Collaborate with the studio’s key vendors

Social Media

  • Work alongside Marketing team to set the social strategy
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to draft annual social content calendar and develop social content

Other / Special Projects:

  • Work alongside team to host client screening events
  • Draft Ad hoc presentations
  • Oversee various special marketing projects in support of the SPE and SPT (Television) content distribution business

Team Support:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to marketing team fostering growth and development of more junior marketers
  • Monitor competitive activities in broadcast and streaming home entertainment to refine the marketing strategy
  • Stay updated on social media marketing standards and creative asset production
  • Understand and align with Sony’s governance and strategies
  • Promote the values of Sony Pictures Entertainment

Knowledge

  • Must have 6-8 years in managing direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns
  • Must have expertise in media including traditional and digital media, programmatic, social, search
  • Must have knowledge and interest in the features and tv media distribution landscape, and strong grasp for today’s tv and features streaming landscape 
  • Must have knowledge of creative asset production, social media content, digital and social media marketing activities
  • Must have expert level knowledge of social platforms such as Meta (Facebook, IG), YouTube, Pinterest, SnapChat and X 
  • Must be a creative thinker; able to generate ideas and have a keen eye for creative and brand marketing 
  • Must have previous experience managing projects and small marketing teams

  • Must be an excellent communicator
  • Must have impeccable attention to detail and highly organized

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize successfully
